Muddles' Fundraising Mission was founded in 2008 after the creator of Muddles the Bear's mother Karen sadly passed away from non-hodgkin's lymphoma aged just 40. Driven with determination to keep his mother's memory alive, the first fundraising event was held in August 2008 a month after Karen passed away,at the Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway in Hampshire. The creator's of the hit BBC children's television program 'Underground Ernie' also came aboard with a final total of over £3,500 being raised on the night for the Portsmouth Hospital's NHS trust ROCKY APPEAL which is situated at the hospital that cared and looked after Karen whilst she was in and out of Hospital.
Since then Muddles' Fundraising Mission, a non-profit fundraising group consisting entirely of volunteers who give up their spare time to help raise vital funds for local good causes and worthy charities have raised over £12,000 for various charities including: The Rocky Appeal, Cancer Research UK, Comic Relief, Hampshire Autistic Society & Alzheimer's Research UK.
The aim of Muddles' Fundraising Mission is to raise money for as many charities as possible every year, to make a difference and also to keep Karen's memory alive, and year by year we achieve this by holding various fundraising events ranging from quiz nights to charity football matches to charity ghost hunts to family fun evenings.
It is through the support from the public that we are able to keep these fundraising events going every year and that we are able to keep Karen's memory alive. Karen was a kind-hearted person who always did things for other people and we want to continue helping others like she did when she was alive.
Thanks to the continued support from our patrons at our events, Muddles' Fundraising Mission is able to donate thousands of pounds each year to a wide variety of good causes.
the team at Muddles' Fundraising Mission would like to thank you for reading and we look forward to seeing you at a future fundraising event.
Yours Sincerely,
Muddles' Fundraising Mission.
